Dr Nigel Carter is the longstanding CEO and a previous Chairman of the Oral Health Foundation. Formerly a dentist in general practice with a strong interest in the training of dental care professionals. He is immediate past Chair of the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe and current Chair of Council of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health. In these roles he works extensively with the media to promote oral health and general health and is actively involved with policy makers to ensure the vital role of oral health is high on the agenda. He was awarded an OBE for services to dental health and dentistry in the 2012 Jubilee Honours.
